Fabrisonic Highlighted by Todd Grim Video Series
Engineering.com has been producing a video series recently in partnership with Todd Grimm. A recent video highlighted new technologies in AM, including Fabrisonic’s patented Ultrasonic Additive Manufacturing. Great video series….
This week Fabrisonic is at the Twenty Third Annual International Solid Freeform Fabrication Symposium in Austin Texas. The conference covers in depth research of a myriad of different additive manufacturing technologies.
Yesterday we started the day hearing from Terry Wohlers on why he believes there will not be a 3d printer in every home. The basic premise of his argument is that people are accustomed to buying “stuf” and don’t have the ability or time to truly design parts to be printed. Thus, the technology will likely be relegated to geeks and hobbyist. Interesting conversation.
During the afternoon session, we heard 8 papers on Ultrasonic Additive Manufacturing. This included papers from The Ohio State University, Loughborough University in the UK, Clemson, and University of Louisville. It was great to have so many researchers in the UAM field all together at one event. We are already looking for an even larger group next year.
