In the new year, we find ourselves reflecting on all the fun we had over the last 12 months. Below are some of the highlights from our adventures in 3D printing. 2020 is already full of promise with some unbelievable new parts and customers. Stay tuned!

February 2019– We started off the year by hosting the NYC CNC team for a virtual tour of Fabrisonic which has already been seen by over 90,000 people! During the tour, we explored ultrasonic additive manufacturing (UAM), friction stir welding, and 3D powder bed technology. Check out the video here: http://bit.ly/2u5x2rh

May 2019– Fabrisonic announced the launch of the SonicLayer 1200, a smaller footprint 3D printer suited for R&D as well as small scale production. We caught up with Kerry Stevenson at Fabbaloo to share about our newest machine and the possibility of working toward developing space-rated 3D printers in the future. October 2019– Fabrisonic was featured in 2 videos for Additive Manufacturing Media’s new video series, ‘The Cool Parts Show’! In the inaugural episode, take a look at a rocket fuel injector 3D printed with electronic controls embedded inside the metal build. The servo motor printed as an integral part of the injector adjusts the rocket’s fuel mixture while the rocket is in flight. Watch the first video here: http://bit.ly/2SEpZQo

In the second video, learn about our smart build plate with embedded sensing able to catch the moment when the forces in the part change abruptly, suggesting a failure has occurred. Check out the second video here: http://bit.ly/2rBHs0O

November 2019– I caught up with Leslie Langau of Design World to share Fabrisonic’s perspective on what we predict for the 3D printing industry in 2020 and beyond. Check out the article here: http://bit.ly/2F2gSRN

We wish you a happy and prosperous New Year to one and all.
