Happy Hallows’ Eve

Happy Halloween!!! As some of you may know, the Fabrisonic team has a sweet tooth and quirky sense of humor.  We calmly celebrated by having festive cupcakes and a red velvet cake that had an “accident.”  While we don’t necessarily print sweets, they are layers of cake, icing and sprinkles…so, we are going to roll with it.

What kind of 3D printing do we have expertise in? Why 3D metal printing without melting of course! Fabrisonic likes to showcase three ways that we can print 3D  solutions.  One, combining dissimilar metals while keeping their properties within one solid block of metal.  Click DISSIMILAR for more information.  Two, we can create complex internal geometry such as in heat exchangers. Click GEOMETRY to read more about our hybrid process. Three, we can embed sensors and electronics without damaging sensitive components.  Because we only run to 250°F in most metals, Fabrisonic can embed unique components in solid metal for reasons like health monitoring of a part. Click EMBED for additional content.

Happy 6th Birthday Fabrisonic!!!

You say it’s your birthday?!!! Well it’s our birthday too!!!  It’s officially Fabrisonic’s 6th big day, and we are still in business.  Since half of all business’ fail in the first five years, we are pretty happy.

Over the last six years we have grown from one employee to seven (seven and half if you count interns).  Being a small business affords us the flexibility to change our business model whenever we want.  Fabrisonic started out building and selling machines. However, making production parts and prototypes have become our new “adventure”.

Every day we get in ideas and models from customers that really are crazy and near impossible.  But with our unique process, we routinely deliver ‘impossible’ parts to our customers.  Whether combining dissimilar metals for making new materials, creating truly unique heat exchanges, embedding sensors or electronic, or even combining all three (MIND BLOWN), Fabrisonic has made our own path in the 3D printing world, and we are here to stay.

Let’s Get Ready to Rumble at MS&T!!!

Well, maybe “rumble” isn’t the word.  Get ready to hear some amazing presentations?!  Doesn’t seem to have the same ring to it.

This week is MS&T in Pittsburgh, PA and started yesterday on Sunday, October 8th.  There are a bunch of presentations going on with a variety of subjects.  Our very own Dr. Adam Hehr will be speaking three times this week, and here is his schedule:

  • October 9, 2017: Room 304, DLL Convention Center
    • 3:20 PM: Integrating Fiber Optic Strain Sensors into Metal Using Ultrasonic Additive Manufacturing
    • 4:00 PM: Selective Reinforcement of Aerospace Structures Using Ultrasonic Additive Manufacturing
  • October 11, 2017: Room 305, DLL Convention Center
    • 2:00 PM: Ultrasonic Additive Manufacturing State-of-the-Art

In addition to Dr. Hehr speaking, Mark Norfolk, president of Fabrisonic, will be chair on the afternoon of October 11th. Please swing by and say “Hello!” on either one of those days.  For a list of other speakers and subjects, click HERE.
