Capabilities of Advanced 3D Printing Technology
Design for UAM
Fabrisonic engineers can partner with your engineers to guide them through the Design for Ultrasonic Additive Manufacturing (UAM) process. UAM provides unique capabilities for redesigning parts and rethinking how they are made. Assemblies may be made into a single part, sensors may be embedded to create a “smart” device, or multiple materials can be combined into a single part to take advantage of various material properties. Additionally, Fabrisonic engineers can conduct in-person or virtual Design for UAM training sessions to educate your engineering and design teams to help them re-imagine how they design and manufacture parts.

Materials R&D and Part Prototyping
Copper and aluminum, aluminum and stainless steel, copper and nickel, aluminum and tantalum—these are just a few of the metals than can be joined via UAM. As a solid-state process, UAM can join dissimilar metals without changing each metal’s material properties or creating unwanted metallurgical outcomes, such as intermetallics. Multi-material arrangements, gradients, and other custom combinations are possible Additionally, Fabrisonic can produce prototypes for you to test novel designs and material combinations not possible through traditional manufacturing or other additive processes.
Short-Run Part Production
From a single custom part to hundreds of parts, Fabrisonic can be your short-run production partner. We specialize in helping your engineers go from design to reality and can deliver parts with short lead times. Projects can be de-risked through a stage-gate approach, from material and mechanical testing to part delivery. Fabrisonic is capable of handling CUI and ITAR information.
Serialized Part Production
Many customers need manufacturing partners to help them produce parts at scale while they build up manufacturing capacity in-house. Fabrisonic has helped customers bridge the gap between concept design and full-scale mass production. With 25,000sf of manufacturing space, Fabrisonic can do high-volume UAM part production to allow customers the time to bring full production capabilities in-house.
Platform and Custom UAM Machines
Fabrisonic offers four distinct platform SonicLayerTM UAM machines: the SL1200, SL1600, SL4000, and SL7200. Additionally, Fabrisonic has designed and built custom large-scale UAM production machines that can manufacturer millions of parts per year.
